There are 47 Million Americans who do not have any health insurance. There are many other Americans who are underinsured or have high deductibles for their health insurance.Most americans receive healthcare from their employers.If every american had to acquire health care on their own the rate of uninsured would be lot higher than the present level.At present the annual cost of health insurance for a family is higher than the cost of food.This is a significant socio-economic issue which needs to be resolved. More than half of the personal bankrupties are due to healthcare bills in America. [Pursuit of life, liberty & happiness]A society is not a free society if it is shackled by fear of sickness and poverty.
The reasons for uninsured in america is i) Lack of Government Funded Healthcare for all; ii)Cost of Healthcare Premiums are higher than the affordability level of most American families.
